Dolce Vita Jive & Expresso Expressive/Blues dance Holiday, Sardinia Sea & Countryside (Cala Gonone), Italy. 16-23 September 2025.
We'll stay at the 4 Stars Beach Village in Cala Gonone located about 500 metres from the town of Cala Gonone, featuring bars, shops and cafes. The Resort boasts sports and wellness facilities, restaurant, bar, swimming pool and private sandy beach about 800 metres away. Air conditioned rooms include TV, hairdryer and bathroom. Buffet breakfast and dinner with Sardinian and Italian dishes.

So much natural beauty can be found around this area, which is also great for trekking in all directions, including the nearby extinct volcano of Codula Manna overhanging Cala Gonone’s town centre. Volcano & town are easily visible at about 1:14 minutes of Video 1 and at 2:20 minutes of Video 2. Don’t worry, the volcano is never going to erupt again, as Sardinia is the oldest landmass in Europe, see HERE, and one of the world’s oldest, so it is well settled and you won’t get earthquakes or active volcanos here.
From the nearby port of Cala Gonone, you can also take boat trips to a number of shockingly beautiful nearby beaches, see HERE, rated amongst the top beaches in Italy. For those who like exploring with cars, there are plenty of destinations all around, including the town of Dorgali and Tiscali Mountain, which gives the name to the famous Tiscali telecommunications company, based in the south of Sardinia. Unlike previous jive holidays, this resort is so close to the nearby town of Cala Gonone that on this occasion we advise against a full board option in the resort, as the town features a number of eateries where you might wish to have your lunch.

Sardinia's CALA GONONE Beach Village **** is an exclusive resort located in the picturesque setting of Cala Gonone in a panoramic position on the Gulf of Orosei. From the town of Dorgali, you descend along the ancient path that winds through unique and breath-taking views of the gulf, to reach the village of Cala Gonone, characteristic and very welcoming, home to the most important fleet of boats for excursions throughout Sardinia. Few miles away you could discover the beaches of Cala Mariolu and Cala Goloritze (recently ranked second and third among all the Italian beaches), Cala Luna (the set of numerous movies such as Swept Away) and the cave of Bue Marino, a site of incomparable beauty. Its hinterland makes the area of Cala Gonone special and magical: the Supramonte, where there are natural monuments of great beauty such as Gola di Gorroppu (with its walls over 400 meters high, this is the European highest and most extensive canyon) and the mysterious nuragic village of Tiscali. This mountain area, the realm of moufflons, is one of the hikers' temples for trekking, flora and wildlife.
Distances: Beach: 800m, accessible on foot and via free shuttle service. 500m from Cala Gonone. 105 Km from Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport (about 80 minutes transfer).
Accommodation: The Beach Village is set in a centuries-old park with Mediterranean vegetation. Mediterranean style rooms are surrounded by greenery. All the rooms have air conditioning, TV, minifridge, telephone, hairdryer, safe, bathroom with standard toiletries. Daily maid service.
Restaurant: The service is always buffet style with unassigned tables, and allows guests the maximum freedom and creativity in combining flavours and quantities to suit their own personal tastes. Each day you'll find regional and international dishes, with a wide choice of appetizers, first and second courses, side dishes, real Italian pizza, fruit and desserts. Theme nights. Microfiltered water, house white and red wine, lager beer are always included at no extra charge for dinner. The kitchen staff is trained to prepare meals for different food intolerances; specific product are not available, but chef can cook, limiting contamination, the foods provided directly by the guests.
Services, facilities and sports: Restaurant with air-conditioned indoor room and covered outdoor veranda, typical Sardinian restaurant, 24h reception, hall, TV room. Enormous 1,000 mq swimming pool. Air-conditioned meeting room with 200 seats, theatre, "Central Bar" by the pool with piano bar and Wi-Fi area, "Beach Bar" in front of the beach. Bazaar with newspapers, boutiques, handicrafts, excursion point, free and unattended external parking. Shuttle service for the beach at set times. Possibility of renting dinghies, cars, scooters and bicycles. Excursion program. Rental of beach towels and strollers (to be reported at the time of booking). Laundry service. Multipurpose field, soccer 5 in a row, tennis. Playground.
Swimming Pool, Beach and facilities: Massive swimming pool. Pink sandy beach with small coloured pebbles & gravels. Equipped with sunshades, sunbeds and deckchairs all free from the second row and until exhaustion. Fitness, water gym, access to the sport facilities, theatre and event rooms.
Security: You will be required to wear a coloured wrist bracelet for the duration of your stay.
You will have time to yourself to spend relaxing in the Hotel, maybe by the pool or by exploring the nearby places at your own pace. There will be dance workshops and evening freestyle dancing every night until late.
Preferably, bookings should be gender balanced. Non gender balanced bookings will be considered depending on how many people of either gender have already booked. Please note that we reserve the right to change the programme at our own descretion if the need arises at any time.
What is included: 7 days & nights accommodation, half board meals and drinks (typical cafeteria drinks at breakfast and water, wine and beer at dinner), pass for dance workshops and unrestricted access to freestyle dances (jive/expressive/blues) across two venues.
Prices are per person, as follows, and are based on a minimum two people sharing (£ 200 supplement for single occupancy):
Early Birds - Subject to availability currently £ 547. BEWARE the price might change at any time and will definitely change FROM 1st January.
Late Owls - From 01/01/2025 (or earlier depending on booking numbers), £ 567.
Sharing with a Stranger - We encourage people to avoid the £ 200 single occupancy supplement by sharing with a stranger. You can contact us to put your name on the waiting list to share. If we have, or when we'll have, a suitable person, we'll put you in touch with one another to discuss suitability amongst yourselves. If you decide to share, you'll pay the price that was published on the day that you joined the waiting list not the latest price published on the day you found someone to share with.

How To Book: If you are single (either gender) or your booking is non-gender balanced, please call us or email us first. If your booking is gender balanced, then please transfer £ 200 deposit per person, payable to
Francesco Gareddu, account number 22841264, sort code 040003. Reference: your name followed by SAR, i.e. JonSmithSAR. After you pay your deposit, please email us on jive@jivetime.co.uk stating:
Your name, and, if known, the name of the person/people you are booking, their mobile number and email address.
The type of room/s you wish to book, i.e. single, double/twin, triple or quadruple and how many.
Yours, and if you already have it, the place and date of births of all in your group. Under Italian law, if we pass this information to the resort before your arrival, you do not need to present your passport at check-in, which makes it for a faster and safer process, as your passport stays with you at ll times.

Transfers (from Italy's Olbia airport to resort and vice versa) - We can book your transfers (airport/resort/airport) on request, subject to availability and prior agreement. Prices depends on how many people share your coach or other vehicle, i.e. taxi, mpv, mini coach, mid coach, full coach. The more people sharing and the lower the cost. Alternatively, public buses also travel between the airport (leaving from the same area as the private coaches) and resort four time a day at € 16 each way (as per 2024 info, the new timetable and price will be published in May 2025 by the transport company).
If you wish to extend your holiday by arriving before 16/09/25, leaving after 23/09/2025 or are arriving/departing Olbia on different times, you can still book a transfer on coaches serving the flights for which we'll book dedicated transfer coaches. However, the timing of the coach transfers will be programmed to coincide with the flights for which transfer coaches are available, therefore if the times of the flights for which transfer coaches are booked changes, so it will change the times of the transfer coaches. Alternatively, you can make your own transfer arrangements from Olbia to the hotel and vice versa.
Please note that in any case your hold luggage must not exceed 25Kg per person unless previously agreed by us in exceptional circumstances, this is due to the limited space available in the coaches' hold. Every year people bring needlessly large suitcases which cost you more to transport, use more fuels and impact on the carbon footprint.

Important Terms & Conditions: T&Cs are as stated throughout this web site. As per previous Italian events in past years, once the booking is confirmed there is nil guaranteed cancellation refunds, albeit in fact almost everyone who cancelled up to a few days before previous events were given a refund, as we had a very long waiting list of people to replace cancellations. In any case, if you cancel a confirmed booking, we can guarantee that neither us nor the resort will charge any fees to change your name if someone else takes your place. Please note that no refund will be issued IN ANY CASE for partly paid bookings. The tourist tax payable by each individual directly to the hotel, which collects it on behalf of the local council, is currently about £ 1.30 per person per day (depending on exchange rate).
